Instead of reaching for one of my high calorie desserts, I started making smarter choices.
How to makeLow Carb cookies?
Ingredients
Flour – I used whole wheat white flour, which adds fiber and maintains the same texture as regular white flour. You can utilize a blend of white and entire wheat flour.
Baking Soda and Baking Soda – A combination of both leavening agents will help thicken and lift the cookies.
Cornstarch – Holds cookies together, no eggs required!
Salt – simply a squeeze to draw out the general pleasantness of the treats.
Unsweetened Applesauce: Reduce the fat and calories in the cookies.
Sweetener of Choice: Any no-calorie sweetener can be used. I prefer redirected brown sugar, which is a sugar-free version of brown sugar.
Coconut Oil – Only a small amount of coconut oil is needed to ensure that the cookies do not become rubbery.
Vanilla Extract – A must have for any good cookie!
Chocolate Chips – I used sugar free chocolate chips, but any chocolate chip can be used.
The instructions
Start by mixing together the flour, baking soda, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt, then set aside. In a bowl, add unsweetened fruit purée, sugar, coconut oil, and vanilla concentrate and blend until smooth. Then, at that point, tenderly blend the dry fixings until recently consolidated. Add the chocolate chips with an elastic spatula.
Now shape the dough into 12 balls with your hands and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the cookies at 180°C for 10-12 minutes or until the edges start to brown. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before gently inverting them onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips for Making the Best Low Fat Chocolate Chip Cookies
Do not overbake the cookies, as they will continue to bake and set as they cool.
You CAN omit the oil and use all of the applesauce, but the cookies will end up quite soft and possibly rubbery. Reserve a few more chocolate chips to decorate the cookies.
